Boat Trips From Dalyan

When visiting Dalyan a boat trip is a must. There are jetties all along the riverside in the town. You may choose a short trip, eg. to Iztuzu beach, or a longer one, or even hire a boat for a full day and visit other parts of the coast. Moonlight tours are also available. Many tours include food, usually BBQ style.

Boats heading north up-river pass through a gorge of steep and rocky cliffs, with spectacular scenery. Where the river opens out into Köyceğiz Lake are situated the famous mud baths and hot springs. Continuing across the lake gives stunning views of surrounding mountain ranges, and the town of Köyceğiz is well worth a visit, especially on Monday, which is market day. Boats heading South down-river, in the direction of Iztuzu first pass by the wonderful rock tombs before entering a thick forest of tall rushes, with the channel zig-zagging first one way then the other on its way to the beach. The views of wildlife both on and in the river are superb, and if you are lucky you may spot a kingfisher diving for food.
